At Elysian Tattoo Co, we take immense pride in our reputation as one of the most highly-regarded studios in Perth. Our brand has set the standard in the industry, and we encourage artists who align with our vision to join us on our journey toward excellence. Our primary focus is to provide a nurturing environment that allows artists to grow and produce their own custom style tattoos, build their brand, and take their tattooing career to the next level.

One of our core values is the expectation that our artists actively build their own brand and clientele base, utilizing strong social media activity. We are a predominantly private studio that does attract some walk-in traffic and online inquiries through our social media platforms.

To better accommodate personal preferences and work styles, we offer three hire agreement options, each tailored to meet individual needs. 

Option 1 is a studio 30%/artist 70% split, or Option 2 is a flat rate of $250 per day for bay hire. Both options are ideal for artists starting out or those who seek freedom and flexibility to travel, or for those who rely on the studio to provide them with work opportunities.

OPTION 3: 

Although locked weekly rental contracts are the norm amongst many studios, we at Elysian Tattoo Co wanted to offer something that is a bit more flexible for our artists.

Instead, our carefully designed system is created to offer an extra layer of flexibility for our artists. Our system allows our artists the freedom to take unforeseen days off from the studio without incurring additional costs.

We understand the frustration that can result from last minute client cancellations or sudden situations of illness. Artists often face unexpected obstacles, such as raising kids or the risk of burnout. That is why we have implemented a retainer method that ensures their ongoing commitment to the studio while also providing support for coping with unpredictable and challenging situations.

Option 3 is an exclusive retainer option, accessible only after completing a three-month trial period and at the discretion of the studio. This option is perfect for artists with a proven work ethic and an existing base of loyal clients, without the need for the studio to provide work.

We offer a studio 30%/artist 70% split, with a retainer amount capped at $950 per week, holiday leave of 4 weeks already included. Despite taking additional weeks off away from the studio, artists must pay the $950 retainer to secure their bay. However, if a retainer requirement is not met regularly, the artist will revert back to Option 1 until their customer base strengthens again.

It is important to note that artists on Option 3 should provide their own gloves and bed sheets since the studio only provides basic consumables. The studio provides a locker for additional storage of such items.

Our pay week runs from Tuesday to Tuesday, and we provide a job book to each artist for recording their income for tax purposes. You may remove copies of your weekly job sheet and place them in an envelope for proper storage and organization. Alternatively, we offer an option for bank transfers to the studio.

As a private studio, inquiries and bookings are managed directly between the artist and the client. Each artist has full control over their work style and client interactions. We provide an online diary system called GetTimely, which can help automate text message reminders to clients as well as marketing and rebooking campaigns. It is entirely up to the discretion of the artist whether to use this system or approach bookings in a different manner. All deposits are to be paid directly to the artist.

Compliance with Western Australian health regulations is of utmost importance to us, and we expect all our artists to meet the necessary requirements to maintain a clean and safe environment. Each artist is responsible for keeping the bay and equipment clean to acceptable standards of the studio.

In terms of supplies and equipment, we provide a range of basic consumables, including Gloves, bedsheets,Glad-wrap, paper towels, razors, ink cups, wash bottle bags, clip cord bags, stencil paper, wash bottles, Vaseline, tape, sharpies, water, and barrier tape.

Our studio offers a single work station, lighting, with additional equipment provided on request, such as a tattoo tray or arm rest. We have a range of printing options available, including a thermal copier stencil machine and an Epson inkjet printer. Supplies for disposing of contaminated material, sharps containers, and autoclaves are also provided.

It is the responsibility of artists to bring their own machinery, power pack, needles, inks, and stencil liquid. The studio does not provide these essential items.
